General Theological Seminary

Project Overview:

A complex of neo-gothic brick buildings ringing a landscaped courtyard in Chelsea, the General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal church has been a home for spiritual education for more than 200 years. Its Keller Library, renowned for its collection of ancient and historic bibles, recently moved into a new space designed by Polshek Partnership. Horsepower was pleased to participate in this large-scale project, which involved wiring the new space and overhauling existing cabling. We successfully completed this project while preserving the integrity of existing walls that date back to the 19th century.

Project Description:

The project consisted of installing new electrical wiring throughout the facility; upgrading fuse panels; installing BMS systems; a complete lighting and design package that met applicable energy codes; a fire alarm system; installing the IT wiring and infrastructure cabling; installing switches, receptacles and wiring for mechanical systems; and tying the structural cabling back to The General Theological Seminary complex.
