Modell’s Times Square

Project Overview:

East Coast sporting goods giant Modell’s flagship store has been a Times Square fixture for decades. As part of a company-wide “rebirth” in 2010, the store decided to perform a large-scale renovation, and they came to Horsepower to make it happen. The results speak for themselves: working in day and night for six weeks, we rewired the 20,000-square-foot space to support concept shops from top sportswear brands, a basketball court, and a 300-square-foot LED screen. Our careful planning and execution meant that Modell’s didn’t have to close its doors once during the renovation.

Project Description:

The project was required to be completed within a 6 week timeframe and work was done in 24-hour day and night shifts while the store was open for business. The project consisted of installing new electrical wiring throughout the facility; providing a new distribution system; installing new lighting fixtures including LED lighting and dimmers, along with suspending fixtures and tracks off 30-foot high ceiling mounts
